My
newest camera is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50
I recently purchased
my first digital camera. I bought a Nikon Coolpix 4800,
that's right I have taken my first steps into the future of photography.
I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I really like film, but it is
much easier to upload a digital image from a camera to my computer
that it is to scan a print. I have not taken my new camera to a concert
yet. Once I have experimented with it a little more I will let you
know what I think of it.
The camera that I have preferred for the past fifteen years is a Pentax. Currently I am using the Pentax 160mm IQ Zoom, and have been using this camera since 1998. I usually have with me one camera and two rolls of film. I go to concerts to hear live music; taking photographs is secondary for me. Carrying lots of big cumbersome equipment with me is not something that I like to do, so I would rather use a small compact camera.
Ever since I went to my first concert in 1979 I have been bringing a camera with me. I had to document the experience somehow, so I borrowed my mothers Kodak Instamatic camera.
I didn't go to my next concert until 1984, and I once again borrowed my mothers camera. By this time she had upgraded to a 110 Kodak Slimline camera. I used that camera at various concerts that I went to over the next three or so years. The Slimline camera was easy to get into concerts undetected. At that time most concert facilities did not allow photography at rock concerts.
The summer of 1988 I finally got my first 35mm camera; it was a Pentax 70mm IQ Zoom. This is when it all changed for me-I started getting much better shots. I was able to get much closer to the artists. I abused that camera for six years. It still took great shots even after being dropped several times.
In 1995 I upgraded my camera to a Pentax 90mm IQ Zoom.
I also own a Pentax K1000 a completely manual camera. There is nothing automatic about it. I have experimented with it on occasion.
I use both color
and black and white film. I currently prefer Kodak Plus-X 125
speed black and white film, but I have used Kodak Tri-X 400
speed film. For color film I use Kodak 400 speed film. |
