Matching Qualified Individuals with Employment Opportunities

Systematic assessment of an individual's potential for employment, utilizing standardized testing, situational assessment, work samples and interest inventories to help identify each individual's job(s) of choice.   From this information a vocational plan is developed and training provided to help each individual realize their vocational goals.

Interest Inventory and Survey

coverph.jpg (11936 bytes)Job Placement. Placement into a job in the business community based on the needs, interests, and abilities of the individual.   On-the-job training by a professional employment specialist helps each person attain independent employment in a job of their choice.

Matching Individuals with jobs in the Community

Supemplo.jpg (8621 bytes)Supported Employment. Community based employment with ongoing provision of support services by program staff.  Placement may be on an individual or as part of a work crew with supports provided according to needs of the individual.

Work Crews or Individual Employment

Paid work experience at the in-house production facility.   The purpose of this program is to enhance the worker's skills, maximize productivity, and to provide the individual with exposure to a variety of job types.   As skills and confidence are developed, individuals move to commuity-based employment.

PRIDE Production Facility

REFERRALS

Individuals are referred for programs by an agency such as the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Department of Mental Retardation, Department of Mental Health, Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, and local school systems. Our Referral Form is available.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible individuals are 18 years or older with available transportation, a vocational disability and can meet other agency admission criteria.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Minimum age of 18 years
Independent self-help skills
Non-active substance abuser
Non-active assaultive or self-abusive behavior
Unemployed/under employed
Disability diagnosis
Willingness to participate
Ability to benefit from programs provided
Social Security number
Current medical and psychological report
Absence of severe medical, psychiatric or behavioral conditions.
